Veridiana Montas

Veridiana Montas was born and raised in the South Bronx.  She has always been an actor but after taking a few photography classes at the International Center of Photography at the Point, she realized that she could use her creativity more behind the camera rather than in front of it.  Her photography was chosen to be part of an exhibition at the Gay Center in New York City.  Her passion for photography and film evolved when she began to work on documentaries at the Educational Video Center.  Veridiana has worked on two previous films; the first one, entitled Back Off: An Inside View On Youth Anger was shown in the Tribecca Film Festival.  The second documentary was about teen relationship violence and is titled Is This Love?

Veridiana is currently working on another documentary about homeless youth. She is the first recipient of the Latino Film Festival's Future Filmmakers Award.
